  • gam-kun says:

either link’s awakening or zelda 2 because very good gameplay from the true gameplay days. why does this matter so much? cuz zelda stories are mostly bad anyway so the best gameplay games should be chosen.

but final answer is links awakening cause of cool & mysterious atmosphere.

  • Brad says:

    1. LTTP
This game rules. Just fun the whole way through.
    2. WW
I liked sailing, that was cool. And it was just a fun and well designed game.
    2. MM
Similar to WW, I liked the time mechanic. Had fun with it.
    3. Phantom Hourglass
Played this so much on my DS at the time, had a bunch of fun with it. Great game despite popular opinion
    4. Minish Cap
Played this on my Gameboy, I liked it. Very neat.
    5. OoT
Well designed game w/ good story.

    Honorable Mentions:
    Breath of the Wild:
This game is really good. But is it a zelda game? makes ya think?

  • Mock says:

    1. Ocarina of Time
    2. Breath of the Wild (sue me!)
    3. Majora’s Mask
    4. Link to the Past
    5. Wind Waker

I’m a 3D Zelda aficionado, OOT was actually my first Zelda game, if you can believe it!

  • Barbaloot says:

There’s quite a few I would easily throw in the #1 spot. ALTTP, Wind Waker, Majora’s Mask. All excellent.

But I feel like giving the spotlight to one particularly underrated game in the franchise: Oracle of Ages

Such a great world, story, music. Great villain, great support characters. Awesome mechanics. Just overall an exceptional title. Everything about it is extremely well crafted.

  • ladyjuice says:

    1.Breath of the Wild
    2. Ocarina of Time
    3 Skyward Sword
    4. Adventure of Link

  • Gilbals says:

    #1 OoT
    #2 TP
    #3 LA
    #4 MM
    #5 LttP
6-the rest is determined on mood
    2nd to last: SS
    Worst: BotW

  • Rawk says:

Its very close between majora’s Mask and Link’s Awakening for me.

    But MM wins out.

  • Gamblor says:

S tier – No real complaints, pretty much perfect.
    1) Link to the Past
    2) Majora’s Mask
    3) Link’s Awakening
    4) Ocarina of Time
    5) Zelda 2
    6) Zelda 1

A tier – very good games but have some minor complaints that drop them a little.
    7) Oracle of Ages/Seasons – The world’s a bit too maze-like and tedious to traverse.
    8) Breath of the Wild – A bit too long, lack of dungeon, shrine, and enemy variety.
    9) Twilight Princess – Zant starts out cool but turns out to be lame. Getting stuck in the closed rooms with the black monsters was tedious, reminds me of every lame Okami fight.
    10) Wind Waker – Sailing between islands was too slow and boring. Forgetable dungeons.

B tier – good games but have some pretty big problems.
    11) Minish Cap – Too short and easy.
    12) Link Between Worlds – Good game but lacks originality since its a lot like LttP, extremely easy, never even got low health once
    13) Four Swords Adventure – I like the multiplayer gameplay a lot but not the linear level structure and lack of a real overworld.
    14) Triforce Heroes – Same issues.

C tier – Fun game, not very deep though.
    15) Zelda Game & Watch

F tier – utterly unplayable. I didn’t even finish these.
    16) Phantom Hourglass – Stylus walking? This alone will make me never replay this. More sailing? Ugh. The added fights while sailing don’t help either. And that damn dungeon you have to keep repeating? I quit this game the 4th or 5th time in here.
    17) Skyward Sword – Jesus what happened here? Wiimote swings are sometimes broken, i.e. a diagonal swing doesn’t register as a diagonal swing and causes me to get hit by a boss. Unacceptable. Terrible intro area that takes forever. Tedious item collecting, crafting, and sidequests that all feel like chores. Super linear progression. The whole world feels like a small series of boxes rather than a real location. Even the sky looks like a small room with a few holes in the floor. Not very immersive. Absurd amount of handholding. Fi pops out way, way too often and you can’t skip her dialogue. Shoot me. And then more characters give you help like the mole people in the 3rd dungeon. When a mole guy popped out and told me to walk through a door right in front of me I quit the game and will never go back. Then the game grew arms and legs and jumped out of the Wii and started stabbing my family members and telling my friends to stop hanging out with me. Every other word it shouted was the C word. Not very fond of this game.
