Top P-Wing Picks!

Apple’s Pick – Donkey Kong (Introduced in 1981)

Donkey Kong is a major character in the Mario franchise and the main protagonist of the Donkey Kong franchise. A powerful, yet carefree Kong from Donkey Kong Island, Donkey Kong spends his days collecting bananas and spending time with his friends, particularly his best friend Diddy Kong. When trouble arises, Donkey Kong jumps headfirst into the action to help his friends and protect his island. However, he has also been portrayed as a villain on multiple occasions, such as in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series.

Ladyjuice’s Pick – Peach (Introduced in 1985)

Princess Peach (casually Peach, formerly Princess Toadstool outside of Japan prior to Super Mario 64) is a main character in the Mario franchise, and the princess of Mushroom Kingdom. Peach first appeared in Super Mario Bros. and was created by Shigeru Miyamoto to be the damsel-in-distress throughout most Mario games. She resides in her castle along with many Toads, who act as her loyal servants.

Refia’s Pick – Toad (Introduced in 1988)

Toad is a character who is Princess Peach’s attendant and a long time protector of the Mushroom Kingdom. He is actually a singular character among an entire species of look-alikes (much like Yoshi is to the Yoshi species), leading to confusion over some of his appearances, even with his unique color palette of having a red-spotted mushroom head and a blue vest. He usually has the role of a supporting character who tries to help Mario and Luigi on their adventures, although he occasionally has been a main protagonist, such as in Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario 3D World, and his starring role in Wario’s Woods. He also appears regularly as a playable character in the Mario spin-offs. His role as Peach’s steward has sometimes instead been given to Toadsworth.

Gamblor’s Pick – Francis (Introduced in 2007)

Francis is an otaku (an anime obsessive) and enjoys watching anime, as well as collecting and playing video games, owning cats and cat-like things, and making a pass at any “hot babes” he encounters. He lives in Fort Francis, where his large collection of Meowmaids guard his belongings, tidy his anime collections, record his favorite television shows and so on. Francis has a catchphrase, “hi-technicaaaaal!”, which he employs to describe anything he finds cool, awesome, or “schweet.”

Christopherzilla & Rawk’s Pick – Bowser (Introduced in 1985)

Bowser, sometimes known as King Koopa, is a major character and the main antagonist of the Mario franchise. Bowser is a large, powerful, fire-breathing Koopa who leads the Koopa Troop, an antagonistic organization of turtle-like creatures, and has been the archenemy of Mario since his debut in Super Mario Bros. He has repeatedly kidnapped or attempted to kidnap Princess Peach with the ultimate goal of defeating Mario and taking over the Mushroom Kingdom.

Barbaloot’s Pick – Wario (Introduced in 1992)

Wario is a recurring character in the Mario franchise. He is an obese, muscular, hot-tempered, and greedy man, and Mario’s yellow-and-purple clad arch-rival. He usually appears as an anti-hero, or in some cases an antagonist. His name is a combination of Mario’s name and the Japanese word warui (悪い), meaning “bad”. Wario’s greed pushes him to commit malevolent acts, such as the seizing of Mario’s castle. Wario has also proven to be very cunning as he has tricked Mario on many occasions. He often goes out on his own adventures, from stealing treasure to running a microgame making company. Wario has helped heroes of the Mushroom Kingdom on a few separate occasions as well.

Soyfood’s Pick – Yoshi (Introduced in 1990)

Yoshi is a dinosaur-like character that acts as an ally of Mario and Luigi, and the protagonist of his own franchise. He is the most recurring member of the Yoshi species and has aided his brethren in saving their homeland on multiple occasions. According to the Super Mario World Manual, he got his name from Yoshi’s Island because he was first discovered there. In his youth, Yoshi managed to rescue and protect Baby Mario and Baby Luigi from the wrath of Kamek and the Koopa Troop. In the Super Mario series, he often acts as a rideable character for the heroes, while in most of the spin-offs, he is a playable character on his own.

Let me tell ya! This guy has it all! Charm! Goofy looks! I mean wow! Can’t think of a better character in all of the mario series. Easily DK here folks!

    Others I really like!
    Shyguy
This guy is epic, he is shy and makes cool noises.

    Ludwig Von Koopa
Incredible hair, cool koopa kid guy.

    Mario
The man i spent the best years of my life with…

    Kamek
Cool magikoopa guy!!! Always liked the idea of a robed wizard koopa!

    1. Peach
    2. Shyguy
    3. Dry Bones
    4. Ludwig
    5. Bullet Bill

  • Refia says:

    1. Toad
    2. Koopa Troopa
    3. Chain Chomp
    4. Boo
    5. Rosalina
    6. Piano thing from Mario 64

  • Gamblor says:

    1. Francis the Otaku Chameleon – Super Paper Mario – One of the funniest characters in a Nintendo game, he’s the embodiment of a Nintendo superfan. He’s loud, obnoxious, owns games he hasn’t played, and says things like “Wha-What do I… Oh man… A REAL girl in my room! This is so hi-technicaaaal!” A true gamer.

    2. Booster – Hilariously stupid Mario RPG boss. Reminds me of my own boss IRL.
    3. Fawful – Another stupid boss who speaks in broken grammar. It’s like battling an annoying internet kid so he makes for a good villain.
    4. Wario – Fat, greedy, funny. Sensing a stupid villain pattern here.
    5. Mallow – Great underdog character. He’s cute and fluffy and cries a lot, but has great weather controlling powers and always comes through in the end. A lot of fans are clamoring for Geno in Smash, but I’d prefer Mallow for his stretchy Dhalsim punches and weather spells.
    6. Toad – Another great underdog. I like speed, and he’s usually the fastest character whenever you can play as him. Also wish he was playable in Smash.
    7. Boshi – Yoshi’s a good character and Boshi’s the coolest Yoshi. He’s the blue Yoshi with shades you have to race in Mario RPG. I assume he has all the same powers as regular Yoshis from Yoshi’s Island but faster and cooler with shades.
    8. Mouser – A crazy terrorist bomber also with cool shades and a funky Swiss accent in the cartoon show. I always root for the main villain’s henchman in cartoon shows and wish he’d just kill Mario and friends even as a kid.
    9. DK Jr. – The title hero of the only Mario game that exposes Mario as the cruel villain he really is. A baby in a onesie who’s a lot cuter and more fun than Diddy. I miss when DK Jr. was in spinoff games instead of Diddy.
    10. Boss Bass – The big fat fish that can swallow you whole in Mario 3 and the scariest Mario enemy to me. It can one shot you no matter what powerup you have, its hard to avoid because you can get stuck in water like in a nightmare, and even if you kill it it just comes back to life. Worse than lakitu and the evil sun put together IMO.

  • Christopherzilla says:

    1. Bowser: This guy has been giving us to a reason to get out of bed and jump on turtles for decades, without him where would we be?
    2. Yoshi: If you don’t like Yoshi I don’t want to know you.
    3. Mario: Remember the 2003 Mario Party 5 advertising campaign? MARIO FOR PRESIDENT!
    4. Lakitu’s Cloud: This helpful guy lets you fly around and he’s always smiling.
    5. Bob-omb: Love the little sounds they make when they talk.
    6. Fuzzy: Touch him for a good time.

  • Barbaloot says:

    My pick is Wario

Excellent design, love the concept, great personality. Even has his own games, which are amazing in their own right. Also has the best Dice block in Super Mario Party.

  • soyfood says:

Yoshi, cause there be no Marios bros without him..or her….now is yoshi a guy or a girl…the thing lays eggs…

  • Rawk says:

    Gotta be Bowser, yo.
