Heres why links awakening is the best 2d zelda game and third best zelda game, PERIOD (SPOILERS!!!!!)

ok so u got a normal zelda game, not much goin on right...people are always like zelda story???? what story??? and they're mostly right BUT THEN you got links awakening DX for the nintendo game boy color. Power that bitch on and....BOOM WE GOT STORY!!!

Link washes up on an island with cool and weird characters, basically NONE of which are zelda or ganon or the usual guys...no, Link is here on a unique quest, to get off the island. Most of the cameos are from mario games...has link ended up somewhere in the mushroom kingdom??????

He starts hanging out, gets a yoshi doll, turns it into different stuff as he exchanges it, and talks with people. You meet a village of animals, a weird dude who only uses the phone, a fisherman that lets you just hang out and get fish, and even get a girlfriend. Soon Link notices that even though he originally wanted to get off the island, he's starting to like it here...

But he realizes he has to end it all, he has to go back...and erase all the memories and friends he made in the process.

This, gamers, is why Link's Awakening is simply one of THE most epic Zelda games that ever got made or ever will be made.

Great write-up! I do enjoy the weird atmosphere of LA! It's amazing and (as usual with nintendo games) holds up perfectly fine. Very ambitious GB game and one of my favorites ever for sure!
