Preordered the Wayfarer Edition of this game.  I am absolutely loving it; it's a great throwback to the classic JRPGs.  Mallory has actually put in probably like 35 hours into this so I'm amazed it was my most played game this month.  Literally my only complaint is that my starter is locked to my party, so as you can see, I can't evenly level everyone.  Still, I will casually play this over the next couple months; not sure when I'll finish.  This is my primary handheld game I'm playing at the moment for sure.  The music and graphics are def the best part of this whole thing.

I have enjoyed this game the more and more I've played it.  I don't want to say for sure until I've completed it, but I think it's going to knock off Majora's Mask as my favorite game of all time; a game which has held that spot for the last 12 years.  Aloy is probably the greatest main character I've ever come across.  This game also has the best combat I've ever experienced, and the atmosphere and music is absolutely perfect.  Optimal way to play this game is in the VR headset with headphones on for sure.  This and Octopath will take up most of my time over the next couple months I'm sure.

This was my GotY 2017 until I started playing Horizon.  The expansion came out recently so I decided to start it.  Holy shit is it good.  Just as good as the main game.  As you can see, I'm almost completely done with it, but this is likely my favorite tactical RPG I've ever played.  I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone, as it's still my favorite Switch game ever.

4. PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe (PSP) - 12h15m (15h15m on Year) - 9 Days Spent (11 on Year)

I am considering this beating the game.  It's a pretty fun lil' game to play on the side every now and then.  I'm mainly stopping as I'm probably going to play PJM2 when I get my Switch copy from Limited Run Games, and there are other games I want to focus on.

I started and beat this game in 3 days while Mallory was playing Octopath.  I had only ever played half of DQ8 back in 2006 and that was my only experience ever with the DQ series.  Per Refia's suggestion, I decided to start with DQ1 on the GBC.  It was very basic, but it's gonna be cool to see how the series evolves over time.  I plan to complete all of them.

6. Runner2 (Vita) - 7h35m (7h35m on year) - 5 Days Spent (5 on Year)

I started and complete this game while Mallory was playing Octopath as well.  I beat Bit.Trip Runner back in September 2007, Bit.Trip Beat back in December 2017, and Bit.Trip Flux in January 2018.  I also gave a shot at Bit.Trip Core, Fate, and Void but abandoned them due to difficulty.  Runner was by far my favorite of those so I was happy they made a sequel for it.  This was so much of a blast to play that time just flew by.  I look forward to playing Runner3 on the Switch probably sometime next year.

7. Dragon Quest II (GBC) - 8h05m (8h05m on year) - 3 Days Spent (3 on Year)

Yet another game I've been playing just when Mallory is playing Octopath Traveler.  I started this almost right after finishing DQ1.  It's a much better game, and cool to see some of the early JRPG design.  I don't really know how far in the game I am, but I just got out of DracoLord's castle (this is interesting to me as it was the final dungeon in the first game).  It's cool to see the DQ1 reused and expanded; something I didn't really know JRPGs ever did.  I likely won't start DQ3 until next year after I beat this.

I completed the game this month and it was definitely a lot of fun.  I plan to eventually complete the whole series, and will likely start God of War II either this month or in September.  Very excited to experience more of the modern beat-em-up genre.

Played three games this month and got close to the 7th ending, but couldn't succeed.  It's very fun, but I'm getting a little burned out.  I'm gonna keep pushing forward though and only rarely play it as to keep my interest.

This might be the best 2D Platformer I've ever played.  Right up there with Super Mario Bros. 3 and Bucky O'Hare.  It's extremely difficult, but fair. It's done in an 8-bit style, and I'm blown away at the creative ideas they throw at you.  I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend anyone who likes 2D Platformers to play this ASAP.

Another difficult 2D Platformer from the Super Meat Boy team.  It's the same style, albeit a tad easier.  They do enough different that makes it very interesting, as it's more of an interconnected world.  Cool game, def recommend it.

Man this is a fun co-op game.  We had a couple people over one night to play with us, and I definitely didn't enjoy it as much as I did when I played with Rawk.  this dude got angry at us being bad at the game, smh.  Won't play with him again.  Since Overcooked 2 will have online, I hope to get it and play with some GCLers.

Started playing the Octo Expansion this month.  This expansion is FANTASTIC and far exceeds the original campaign.  I plan to play and fully complete this going forward; just most of my time was sucked up by other Switch games this month.  I seriously love it though and it has a solid challenge; highly recommend.

This game came with my PSP, and since I try and play everything I own, I'm going through this.  It's a fun little platformer with a manual kirby-tilt-n-tumble kinda control.  It's a cute, happy game.  Will slowly complete this over time.
