Pickups! A time to show the world all the junk you are amassing. I’m a huge fan of the Famicom and Nintendo Entertainment System so I’m going to dive right into a few of my more recent grabs.
The Mafat Conspiract, Batman: Return of the Joker and Disney’s Darkwing Duck. All three of these games I had high hopes for. The Mafat Conspiracy was extremely cheap and praised enough for me to go ahead and grab it. Sadly it’s just not a fun experience, the action is broken up with first person dungeon crawling segments that just feel so out of place. The Return of Joker was a fun game. It has some impressive visuals for the NES and it also is just the right length and challenge to make it a worthy play. Then there’s Darkwing Duck, the game I most anticipated of this bunch and it seems horribly average. Capcom’s Disney games on the NES are all worth playing, this one most definitely is but I expected more.
Egypt, Jumpin’ Kid, Solomon’s Key 2 and Gimmick! I’ve been eyeing Gimmick and Solomon’s Key 2 for a long time now, I am very fond of both games and I highly recommend both of them. Jumpin’ Kid is a very lacking platformer. It’s not fun to control and the level design is uninspired. Egypt is pretty good so far, I’ve yet to dive into it but I don’t think it’s as good of a puzzle game as Solomon’s Key 2. Considering how cheap Egypt is though, it’s a great grab.
Then I found this! Local flea market some time ago came up with this! I can’t even remember if I paid for this because it was just the box on it’s own. I believe she gave it to me for free, people just dont value cardboard boxes… which is why they’re so hard to find to begin with. I have thousands and thousands of things I’m sure I need to get, so stay tuned… I’ll be covering it all here at P-Wing Pickups Live.
Darwing Duck and Batman? Nice Choices. Which ones have you played before?
I hadn’t played any of them prior to getting them aside Adventure of Link. They’ve been mostly good grabs, I am planning on getting a couple dozen more NES titles and moving onto other platforms.
